Close up UFO snapped over Thames river

Saturday, 09 May 2009
A student was left shocked when she checked her tourist snaps of the London skyline - and spotted what looks like a flying saucer. University Of Exeter academic Karolina-Slavka Mueller was in London for the weekend, when she took some shots with her camera phone of the sights.

But when she looked back at the January 19 night time pictures of Tower Bridge and the London Eye, she was shocked to see an apparent UFO.
And experts claim it is the real thing.

Karolina said in an email: "What's very strange about this is the fact that we didn't actually see this object in the sky while I was taking the photos.

"I only discovered it once I loaded the photos onto my computer as I didn't even look at the photos until then."

The images - taken around 3.50am - were taken eight minutes apart as Karolina and two pals drove through Central London.

The apparent UFO is at an angle and appears to emit a mysterious blue light.
Karolina added: "None of us can come up with a reasonable answer to what this might have been.

"One of my friends, the driver, has grown up in London and he can't find a reasonable answer.

"He says he's never seen anything like it and that there definitely isn't any building in this area that could look like this."

UFO experts have been left scratching their heads over the sighting.
Editor, cameraman and UFO researcher Chris Martin said: "I was looking for evidence that these have been fabricated.

"I couldn't find any evidence. It's unprecedented because she produced three pictures, which seems to show it's flying.
"My own evaluation is that these photographs are genuine and have not been digitally manipulated or hoaxed."

He added: "These photos are, in my opinion as a UFO researcher, absolutely astounding and show a real object seemingly under intelligent control.

"This is a classic flying saucer-shaped UFO."

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson did not comment on the sighting, saying: "The MoD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromisedby hostile or unauthorised military activity.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."

British UFO reports from 2008 released

16:09 GMT, February 8, 2009
Nearly 300 reports of possible UFO incidents from 2008 showing the date, time, location and a brief description of each sighting have been published on the UK MOD's website this week.

Among the incidents reported were 30 UFOs seen in February 2008 in West Yorkshire, a triangular craft with lights on each corner hovering at aircraft-height above Slough, and a fast-moving green object seen in May above the M6 motorway in the West Midlands!

The MOD receives a large number of requests every year for information relating to UFOs, and therefore introduced a system to meet this demand, releasing the first files to the public in May 2008.

Since then further dossiers have been released relating to reports of sightings over recent years.

Further incidents in the latest report relating to 2008 include the following description from Tonbridge in Kent: "An object was flying around in circles at aeroplane level and sounded like an industrial train. There was a strange flashing on the object."

From Doncaster, South Yorkshire: "A metallic, capsule-shaped object. There was no sound. The object was moving from South East to North West, and was going quite fast and didn't slow down at any point."

And opposite the Houses of Parliament in London the following incident was reported: "There was a craft that had green, red and white lights. It was still and static in the sky. Was seen for about an hour-and-a-half."

On New Year's Eve at the end of 2008 an Essex Police Officer reported: "A bright orange/yellow light in the sky. Quite large, 1,500-2,000ft [457-609m] up. Moved very slowly in a half-circle then stopped over the water between Brightlingsea & East Mersea. Shot straight up and disappeared very fast."

And in Bristol: "A big alien craft landed on the top of the witness's house. The craft then flew off over Bristol."

Reports of UFOs are examined by the Ministry of Defence solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity.

If required, sighting reports are examined with the assistance of the Department's air defence experts. Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, no further work is undertaken to identify the nature of each sighting reported.

The Ministry of Defence has no other interest or role regarding UFO matters and does not consider questions regarding the existence or otherwise of extraterrestrial life-forms.

Knock Out UFOs

It was claimed last night, the RAF pilots have tried to BLAST UFOs out of the sky under a top secret Government directive.

Former Ministry of Defence worker Nick Pope who had been working for them for 21 years including three years at the UFO desk, revealed the rules of engagement for the first time. He claimed that RAF pilots had fired on UFOs on several occasions, but had failed to bring them down.

He added "We know of cases where the order has been given to shoot down — with little effect to the UFO."

Nick Pope said "the Rules of engagement were drawn up after dozens of close encounters with suspect craft in British Airspace."

RAF attacks on UFOs were "not automatic but happen when something in our airspace is deemed to be a threat. The orders had been issued under the highly classified directive since the early 1980s".

He also claimed credible UFO witness statements had come from dozens of near misses with the planes, police helicopters and RAF jets in recent years.

The MoD did not comment!

U.K. Media Offer UFO Theories for Wind-Turbine Attack

By David Altaner

Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. media, including Rupert Murdoch’s The Sun, are speculating whether a Lincolnshire wind turbine was wrecked by a UFO with tentacles like an octopus.

On Jan. 4, a 90-meter tall wind generator near Conisholme, England was damaged, with one of its 20-meter blades torn off. Yesterday, The Sun’s front-page story blamed an “octopus UFO,” citing residents who’d seen “mysterious flashing orangey-yellow spheres.” Today’s story, “Close Encounters of the Turbine,” suggested a secret “robot stealth bomber” led to the UFO sightings. The same ideas were also published in the Daily Mail newspaper.

Ecotricity, the Stroud, England-based power provider that owns the 800-kilowatt generator, lists more than a dozen stories behind a cartoon on its Web site featuring a turbine next to a cow being beamed up by an alien spacecraft. Managing Director Dale Vince, who was interviewed over the mystery on BBC Radio 4, said the company is still investigating.

“We have been crawling all over it and have sent bits off for analysis to see if we can work out what caused it,” Vince said on the company’s Web site. “To make one of these blades fall off, or to bend it, takes a lot.”

The story was first reported on Jan. 6 in the local Lincolnshire paper, the Louth Leader, which quoted a resident saying he saw a “massive ball of light” with “tentacles going right down to the ground” the night before the incident.

“UFOs sell newspapers, especially on slow news days such as post-Christmas and summer silly season,” said David Clarke, a journalism lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University who writes about UFOs and other supernatural beliefs. “Never was the phrase, ‘Why let the facts get in the way of a good story?’ more appropriate.”

The Guardian and the Financial Times newspapers claim to have solved at least part of the mystery. The Guardian’s director of digital content, Emily Bell, cited a fireworks display she helped arrange for her father’s birthday celebration Jan. 3, less than two miles from the turbine. Her husband, Ed Crooks, writing in the Financial Times, said some of the pyrotechnics “looked rather like octopus tentacles.”

The turbine manufacturer, Germany’s Enercon, is examining some of the broken parts.

“It was not a flying object, ice or extreme wind gusts,” said Henri Joppien, a salesman for Enercon, by phone today. “There is no general defect or manufacturer’s problem. All the rest is speculation.”

The largest cropcircle ever seen

"Awe inspiring, jaw dropping, mind warping, incomprehensible, bloody huge, are a few phrases that come to mind when viewing this years (2001) "finale" formation which was discovered on top of Milk Hill in Wiltshire above the White Horse on 13th August. It's difficult to take on board the sheer scale and complexity of this formation it spans ten tram lines and if you walked from one side of the formation to the other you would have covered approaching 1500ft! Compare that to the average diameter of formations this year which is approx 200ft. There are over 400 circles incorporated into the design a record amount dwarfing all previous formation. The formation has already been variously described as "Utterly AWESOME" by american radio talk show host Jeff Rense, as the "greatest formation to form in the entire world" by crop circle researcher Stuart Dike, as "the mother and father of all crop circles" by crop circle researcher Charles Mallett, as "the pinnacle, the very epitome of perfection, the paragon of all circles" by Mark Fussell from the crop circle connector website, who goes on to say "there are not enough words in the English vocabulary to describe how amazing this crop circle is".

Everyone is saying this feat is beyond human ability. This is an unprecedented formation and definitely one for the history books and I don't think it's an overstatement to describe it as truly paradigm shifting. You can view some great aerial footage of the formation at the cropcircleconnector.com. Here's something to ponder, if this formation was man made allowing for time to get into and out of the field under cover of darkness the construction time left should be around four hours. Given that there are over 400 circles some of which span approx 70ft in diameter that would mean that one of those circles would need to be created every 30 seconds and that's not even allowing any time for the surveying, purely flattening, this formation pushes the envelope and that's a MASSIVE understatement... my brain hurts! To give you some idea of the scale of the formation pictured right is an enlarged detail of the above photo showing just the center of the formation, we've ringed the area to indicate where someone is standing, you can barely see them, now can you see how massive the formation is!!! "
Now, that defeats any comments about crop circles being man-made, isn't it?
